Navy Federal Credit Union - Available to Robins AFB employees

Civilians, Contractors, and Military relocating to Robins AFB, did you know in addition to the wide variety of products and services provided to its members, the Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) also offers home loans?

Established in 1933, and once offered to only Navy personnel, NFCU services are now available to all of the following:

Department of Defense (DoD) uniformed personnel (including retirees)
DoD Reservists (including retirees)
Army and Air National Guardsmen (both civilian and retirees)
DoD Officer Candidates (all branches to include the Coast Guard and Merchant Marines)
US Government employees and contractors assigned to DoD installations
DoD civilians (includes retirees)
US Coast Guard
Family members of any category above

This means the vast majority of Robins Air Force Base employees, to include HQ Air Force Reserve and Georgia Air National Guard are eligible for NFCU services.

The Navy Federal Credit Union offers special programs available only to active duty personnel such as their Active Duty Choice Mortgage offered with no Private Morgage Insurance required. They also offer a competitive VA Mortgage with 100% financing.

Federal Housing Tax Credit | Military Tax Credit | Robins Air Force Base, Warner Robins GA

This tax credit has already ended for the general populace..your outstanding service to our nation gives you a year longer to take advantage of this program.
Qualifications

Had an extended duty outside of the U.S. between January 1st, 2009 and May 1st, 2010
- Exceptions apply for those who had to return early because of medical issues
Must enter into a binding contract before May 1st, 2011
Must close on your home before July 1st, 2011
First-time buyers can qualify for up to $8,000
Repeat buyers can qualify for up to $6,500

Restrictions

Homes to be purchased must be less than $800,000
Gross income for single individuals must be less than $145,000
Gross income for joint tax filers must be less than $245,000
Home buyer must be at least 18 years old
For first-time buyers, selling the house our not using it as your principal residence within 3 years of purchase may make you liable for recapture of the tax credit (can be waived)
For repeat buyers, you must own/live in the property for 5 consecutive years (can be waived)
