One more week and kids in Middle GA will be singing, "schools out, schools out for summer!". Ok, maybe that was my generation but it still holds true...kids will be home which means you need a plan to keep your sanity and keep them occupied. Below are several day trip outings you can take right here in our area that will be both fun and educational for kids of all ages.

Warner Robins Museum of Aviation-With nearly 100 aircraft, 4 buildings of artifacts and displays, a flight simulator, and a host of educational programs, this is an all day event. Bring a lunch or eat at the cafeteria and definitely wear comfortable shoes. Admission is free but call ahead at (478) 926-6870 for specific details on events or hours of operation.

Georgia Music Hall of Fame-Visit the Tune Town exhibit, Coca-Cola Drugstore, the hands-on Music Factory and check out all the displays in this fascinating ride through Georgia music history. Open every day of the week, call (478) 751-3334 or (888) GA-ROCKS for more information.

Lake Tobesofkee Recreation Area- Boating, fishing, swimming, picnicing, and a host of other outdoor activities await. Come for the day or camp out. Call (478) 474-8770 for admission, camping, picnic, and pavillion rates.

Explore a Local Library- Take the young ones to story time, teach the older kids library skills, or just grab a book and make it a morning/afternoon of literary entertainment.

Johnny G's- With go karts, crazy golf, batting cages, toddler areas, jumpers, arcade games, laser tag, and a host of other activities, this is the hot spot for kids who can't sit still. Its Time for the Macon GA Cherry Blossom Festival

Spring is in the air which for middle Georgia means it is nearly time for the annual Macon GA Cherry Blossom Festival.  The 10-day extravaganza is scheduled for March 18-27, and with hundreds of events planned, promises something for everyone.

Bed Race - You won't want to miss the zany entries, all vying for the "fastest bed" title.  Also present will be a massive chalk board for drawing enthusiasts and a high heels race (both men and women) to raise funds for the fight against breast cancer.

The Parade - Bands, performers, floats, and everything in between.  Come early and make new friends.

Fashion Show - An annual favorite with local celebrity Mark Ballard as the Emcee.

Party with a Purpose - Renowned Christian singer Mark Shultz will perform his best contemporary hits.

Street Party - Featuring Big Boi (half of hip hop duo OutKast) and country singer Jamey Johnson.
